Advanced Featured App Just a Line:
The concept behind the Just a Line app is direct and perfect: let personnel discover the world of enlarged reality like never before. Simply power up the app on the smartphone, point your device’s camera at something, and start drawing on the screen. The end result will look something like those filters you often see on Snapchat or Instagram stories.
The Just a Line app is roughly based on Google’s Tilt Brush app that lets you paint in 3D using a virtual reality headset.
you are using a smartphone that support ARCore, you may be interested in a new Google app called “Just A Line”.
Google has released a new experimental app called “Just a Line” that lets you doodle in augmented reality using your smartphone. It’s a humble app where you do not need a committed hardware to use the app. The app presently works on all ARCore supported smartphones including LG V30 and V30+, Google Pixel XL Pixel Pixel 2 XL, OnePlus 5, Galaxy S7 , Asus ZenFore , AR Galaxy S8 and S8+ Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, , LG V30 and V30+. The app can be downloaded for free on the Google Play store.
The app comes from Google’s creative unit and perhaps why it has been called an “AR Experiment”. The Just a Line app is roughly based on Google’s Tilt Brush app that lets you paint in 3D using a virtual reality headset. Tilt Brush is currently available for HTC’s Vive and Facebook’s Oculus headset.
For those who’re not aware, ARCore is Google’s AR platform that lets developer create unique augmented reality experiences and apps. Google’s ARCore is the company’s answer to Apple’s ARkit, a similar mobile-based AR platform allowing developers to easily create apps.
Now if you are using a phone that does support ARCore, you might be interested in a new Google app called “Just A Line”. This is an app that lets users “draw” a line in the air using their phones that their friends can interact with. “Just a Line is an app that lets you make simple drawings in augmented reality, then share your creation with a short video. Touch the screen to draw, then hit record and share what you make with #justaline.”
In a way this reminds us of some of the AR filters that we’ve seen apps like Snapchat roll out to users, except this is more “official”. Of course this means that you will require a phone that supports ARCore, which at the moment aren’t that many that do, but this is something that Google expects to address over time. In the meantime for those who do have an ARCore-supported device, head on over to the Google Play Store to download the app.
